Abstract: In the context of emerging markets little attention has been paid to management innovation, the invention and implementation of a management practice, process, structure, or technique that is new to the state of the art and is intended to further organizational goals. This panel will explore the following questions: What is the current state of the art of management innovation in emerging economies; should we expect management innovation to look differently inside emerging economies multinationals; how important a source of competitive advantage does management innovation represent for them; does the (emerging) theorizing around management innovation need to be adapted and ff so, in what ways; what advice can strategy scholars provide firms from emerging economies wishing to engage in management innovation.
